Tight Tilt Goes to Storm, 3-2
|
Syracuse starter Kwan-yew Khu pitched effectively against the Delaware 1787 BC at Carrier Field. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Dave Miller sewed up the save, his 7th. The 'W' lifts Syracuse's record to 41-44.
Syracuse used the timely hitting of Bobby Verstraten to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Storm on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt good up there," said Verstraten. "I saw the ball well."
