McCroskey Hits 2 home runs in Rainbow Mermaids Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the Portland Evergreens, 5-4 at Evergreen Park, in part due to center fielder Phil McCroskey, who nabbed player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs. Northern Virginia has a mark of 5-7 after the win.

Northern Virginia used the timely hitting of Tim Stinson to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We did enough to win," said McCroskey.
