Expos Win in Extras
|
Despite a great performance by Laredo second baseman Jessie Gibbs, the Niagara Falls Expos defeated the Hawks by the score of 6-3 at Hawks Field. Gibbs went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Pablo Mareno closed it out for his 2nd save. After today's action, Niagara Falls sits at 25-54, while Laredo falls to 44-35.
Niagara Falls used the timely hitting of Allen Harding to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Expos on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Harding called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
