Hawks Come Up Short at Syracuse
|
It was a fun time at Storm Park, where the Laredo Hawks and Syracuse Storm tangled.
The Storm had to overcome a good performance from Laredo pitcher Cooper Carroll to claim a 3-2 win at Storm Park. Carroll went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Jong-hoon Wang earned the win for Syracuse. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 5-7. Dave Miller picked up the save, his 5th.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when pinch hitter Francisco Romero drew a walk. The Storm went on to win.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Romero.
The Storm now have a mark of 39-39.
