Kingston starter Bill Salas pitched effectively against the Laredo Hawks at Hawks Field. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Kingston reliever Petr Elfimov got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Bu-wei Zhenya was tagged with the loss. The Mangos go to 32-42, putting them 9th in the Silver A.
Kingston used the timely hitting of Dong-min Ch'oe to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mangos on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Kingston skipper . "I can't complain."
