Seahawks Squelch Expos Offense in Shutout Win
|
Myrtle Beach Seahawks starter Alan Haas was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-0. Haas went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-3. Myrtle Beach is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Myrtle Beach used the clutch hitting of Darren Gordam to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to give the Seahawks the lead, 2-0. For the game, Gordam had 2 singles and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Niagara Falls manager Alan Manor.
