Hawks Suffer 6-4 Loss to Generals
|
The Washington Generals defeated the Laredo Hawks, 6-4, at Hawks Field. Xu-gang Shuang was named player of the game for Washington. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Washington starter Jung-ho Yi was credited with the win after throwing 112 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 5-2. Randy Keith earned the save for Washington, his 13th of the year.
Washington took a 6-4 lead on Shuang's 6th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which he hit off Eric Hurt in the top of the eighth, propelled Washington to the win.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Shuang told the Washington Times.
Washington is 28-32 and Laredo, with the loss, 35-25.
