The Delaware 1787 BC picked up a win at Carrier Field, knocking off the Laredo Hawks, 6-3. Starting pitcher Dario Zorander, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Zorander picked up the win for Delaware, going 6 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-2. Roberto Morales earned the save for Delaware, his 11th of the year.
Walt Reed had a big 2-run double for the 1787 BC in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Delaware trailing 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Mike Wilson and stroked the double to right-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the 1787 BC ahead, 4-3.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Reed said.
Delaware is now 25-30, Laredo 32-23.
