Myrtle Beach Beats Syracuse, 5-3
|
Syracuse catcher Randy Baker had a good game, even if his team did not. The Storm dropped a 5-3 decision to Myrtle Beach at Storm Park. Baker was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. Mark Brunswick got credit for the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Earning his 3rd save for Myrtle Beach was Sixto Bustamante.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Cristo Lucas to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Seahawks on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Myrtle Beach manager Omer van Osch.
The first-place Seahawks have a one-game lead in their division.
