Myrtle Beach Seahawks starter Claudio Gonzáles turned in a top-notch performance against the Laredo Hawks at Seahwaks Stadium. The result was a win for the Seahawks, 3-1. Gonzáles picked up the win for Myrtle Beach, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. Sixto Bustamante earned the save for Myrtle Beach, his 2nd of the year.
In the bottom of the 6th, right fielder Anton Zdravomyslov gave Myrtle Beach the lead when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Seahawks had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out double off Laredo pitcher Bu-wei Zhenya changed that -- and Myrtle Beach went on to win.
"I like our moxie," said Seahawks manager Omer van Osch.
