7 Straight Wins for Hawks
The Laredo Hawks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jorge González, who stifled the Niagara Falls offense en route to a 1-0 Hawks win at Waterfall Park. González, the winner, moves to 5-4. He threw 5.1 innings of 0-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 1 walk. Eric Hurt closed the door for Laredo, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

Laredo right fielder Elwiin de Meij contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 46th hit of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 1-0.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Laredo manager Leonardo Sánchez.

The winning streak has now reached 7 games for Laredo.
