Torch Bridle Seahawks, 2-1
|
Myrtle Beach wasted a solid 5-inning effort from starting pitcher Patrick Amador, losing to Mancelona, 2-1, at Torch Field. Getting the save was Eric Blevins, his 1st. Mancelona is now 24-25, while Myrtle Beach is 33-16.
Had Joe Havermeyer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Havermeyer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Torch.
Havermeyer told a Mancelona Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
