Reapers Mow Down Generals, 9-4
|
With designated hitter António Hierro leading the charge, the Grim Reapers defeated the Washington Generals, 9-4, at Washington Park. Hierro was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Yin-zhen Wu, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 6.2 innings. Grim now sits in second place in the Silver A at 30-19.
Grim used the timely hitting of Jim Rigsby to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reapers on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hierro.
