The Mancelona Torch picked up a win at Pipers Ballpark, knocking off the Caldwell Chiefs, 7-5. Starting pitcher Jordon Glen Anderson was an essential part of his team's success. Anderson, now 4-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Mancelona's record now stands at 21-23, placing them 7th in the Silver A.
It could have been a different outcome for Mancelona, had it not been for Ramiro Castillo, the 21-year old third baseman . Castillo contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Mancelona up, 4-2.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Castillo.
