Storm Get One-Run Win at Laredo
|
The Storm faced a stiff challenge from Laredo pitcher Daryl Benstead, but persevered to claim a win at Hawks Field. The final score was 7-6. Benstead went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Kuang-yin Gao was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Dave Miller earned the save for Syracuse, his 2nd of the year.
Syracuse grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, James Berry delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Storm.
