Reapers Turn Back Syracuse, 5-4

The Grim Reapers faced a tough opponent in Syracuse pitcher Jong-hoon Wang, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Storm Park by a final score of 5-4. Wang went 6 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Grim starter Roberto Punyed was credited with the win after throwing 82 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Gabriel Leeds got credit for the save for Grim. It was his 12th of the year.
António Hierro went 1-4 for Grim. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jong-hoon Wang. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hierro said.
Grim is now 22-13, Syracuse 15-20.
