The Kingston Mangos topped the Washington Generals, 7-6, with youngster Bill Carney playing a key role. Carney went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Mangos in the win. Kingston reliever Petr Elfimov picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Tommaso Cugnoni was collared with the loss. Kingston's record now stands at 13-21, placing them 9th in the Silver A.

Kingston used the timely hitting of Vicente Casaus to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mangos on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Casaus said.
