The Syracuse Storm picked up a win at Washington Park, knocking off the Washington Generals, 7-1. Starting pitcher Kuang-yin Gao, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Gao went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-3. The Storm sit in 7th place in the Silver A with a record of 14-18.

Syracuse relied on the bat of Bobby Verstraten to get the win. The second baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Storm ahead, 3-0. For the game, Verstraten had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
