Seahawks Come Back Late to Top Mangos
Despite a great performance by Kingston center fielder Bob Byrd, the Myrtle Beach Seahawks defeated the Mangos by the score of 11-10 at Mango Yard. Byrd went 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. The win was credited to Mark Brunswick in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Thomas Hancock took the loss. Steve Compton picked up the save, his 1st.

Myrtle Beach used the clutch hitting of Patrick Goodhardt to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Seahawks the lead, 11-10. For the game, Goodhardt had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Kingston manager . "But we decided not to take it."

The Seahawks, with just their 1st win in 4 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
