Wrightson Helps Kennesaw Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
It was a good time at Jets Stadium, where fans came to watch the Belleville Bulls and Kennesaw Jets get after it.
The Kennesaw Jets defeated the Belleville Bulls, 10-3, at Jets Stadium. Kennesaw first baseman Maurice Wrightson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Manuel Silva, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held the Bulls to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 2.
Wrightson had a key at-bat for Kennesaw early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Kennesaw an early 4-0 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Wrightson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Kennesaw is now 39-43.
