Patriots Turn Back Chicago, 4-3

Boston beat Chicago at Silver Sox Park, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Brevyn Spann-Ford, who earned player of the game honors. He was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bradley Roth got the save, his 6th in 7 chances. Chicago's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Boston used the timely hitting of Jon Osterman to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Spann-Ford. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
