Victory Pushes Evergreens Record to 60-46
|
Portland Evergreens starter Gerald Orlebar was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 8-2. Portland has now won 4 games in a row.
The Evergreens got a big at-bat from right fielder Vicente Gomillion. For the game, Gomillion went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Portland a 3-1 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Gomillion, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
