In a tight game between the Yucca Valley Yellows and the Belleville Bulls, pitcher Mario Gonzáles was terrific on the mound. The Yucca Valley right-hander was named the player of the game in Yucca Valley's 1-0 win. Danny Kas picked up the save for Yucca Valley, his 6th of the year. The Yellows saw their record improve to 38-40.

Gonzáles, who leaned on his cutter, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 7 innings for the Yellows. For the most part, Belleville hitters were simply overmatched.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Gonzáles told the Yucca Valley Daily.
