Yinzers Prevail, 4-2, Over Put-In-Bay

The Monroeville Yinzers stymied the Put-In-Bay BC, 4-2, at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. David Ferris, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Monroeville. Monroeville reliever Roy Brown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fred Bridges was saddled with the loss. Freddy León, credited with the save, is now 9 for 11 in save opportunities.
Had Ferris not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Ferris hit a 2-run home run. The Yinzers never looked back after taking the 4-2 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Ferris.
The Yinzers bumped their record to 41-36 with this latest triumph.
