Bulls Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Yellows
|
The Belleville Bulls knocked off the Yucca Valley Yellows, 8-6, at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. Marcos Román, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Belleville won. The designated hitter was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. Mark Wells got the win, improving to 7-5. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Belleville is now 38-38.
Cameron Loverock drove in one run for Belleville. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Steve Walden. It was his 28th RBI of the season.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Bulls manager Lou Cook. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
