Put-In-Bay beat Levittown at The Cave at Levittown, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Roland Rankin, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Put-In-Bay reliever Fred Bridges picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Shawn Adams absorbed the loss. Jeff Moore closed the door for Put-In-Bay, picking up his 20th save of the year.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing Levittown hurler Shawn Adams, Raleigh Adams drew a walk. The BC went on to win.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Rankin told the Put-In-Bay Today.
