Bu Lifts Yinzers to 8-4 Win
|
The Monroeville Yinzers bested the Yucca Valley Yellows, 8-4, at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Shuan-yan Bu was named player of the game. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 4 times. Monroeville reliever Donovan Poe picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Steve Denton absorbed the loss. Monroeville is 4th in the Menard's A with a record of 36-31.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Ryan McCarty came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Yucca Valley pitcher Steve Walden, he hit a 2-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Monroeville on top, 5-4.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bu said.
