White Walkers Win at Charleston, 4-3
|
The Buffalo White Walkers knocked off the Charleston Battery, 4-3, at Charleston Armory. Eddie Sachs, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Buffalo won. The first baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Buffalo reliever Sjaak Bonne picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Miguel Angel Martínez was saddled with the loss. The White Walkers own a robust 70-34 mark.
Buffalo took a 4-1 lead on Sachs's 97th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which he hit off Miguel Angel Martínez in the top of the sixth, propelled Buffalo to the win.
"We take it day by day here," said Sachs, "and today was a good one for us."
