The Hollywood Bowl was the site of a tense game between the Hollywood Shredders and Boston Patriots.
The Patriots had to overcome a fine effort from Hollywood pitcher Tony Alfonso to grab a narrow 3-2 win at The Hollywood Bowl. Alfonso went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Patriots.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from first baseman Juan Andrés Martí. For the game, Martí went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Boston a 2-1 lead.
After the game, Boston manager Tyler Carter applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
