River Rats Squash Yellows, 11-1
|
Columbia River Rats starter Pat Butler turned in an exceptional performance against the Yucca Valley Yellows at Ballpark of Yucca Valley, resulting in a Columbia win, 11-1. Butler went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-0. With the win, Columbia goes to 35-24, while the Yellows fall to 25-34.
Columbia used a timely hit from Al Tanner to get the win. The designated hitter delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the second inning to put the River Rats on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Christian O'Dell.
