Bulls Nip Caterpillars, 2-1
|
The Belleville Bulls got a strong performance from pitcher Mark Wells, who stymied the Grand Forks offense en route to a 2-1 win at Belleville Field. Getting the save was Tony Rodríguez, his 5th. Belleville is now 24-27.
Belleville center fielder Ed Reese helped the Bulls to the win. In the bottom of the first inning, the 20-year old center fielder stroked a run-scoring triple. For the game, Reese was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Grand Forks manager Scott Alexander.
