Screaming Eagles Score Late to Upend Sixshooters, 4-2
|
Mercer Island starter Greg King had a strong outing against the Westwood Sixshooters at Sixshooters Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Mercer Island reliever Jacob Swanson picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Neil Young was collared with the loss. Adrik Mihalushkin earned the save, his 4th, for the Screaming Eagles.
The result might have been different for Mercer Island, had it not been for Corey Ollerton, the 25-year old catcher . Ollerton stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Mercer Island up, 3-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Ollerton.
Mercer Island occupies second place in the Premier AA at 37-26.
