The Crescent City Krewe defeated the Springfield Shooters, 11-1, at Springfield Stadium today. Leading the charge for Crescent City was left fielder Albert Seals. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Labeeb bin Muneer, the winner, improved to 7-2. He held the Shooters to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Crescent City goes to 38-22. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
It could have been a different outcome for Crescent City, had it not been for Francisco Rojas, the 25-year old catcher . Rojas contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Crescent City up, 2-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Seals. "And not try to do too much."
