Yellows Pull Even With 3-1 Victory
|
The Yucca Valley Yellows beat the Kennesaw Jets, 3-1, at Jets Stadium. The Yellows got a fine performance from center fielder Bill Gatacre, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Ralph Dunn, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. Harley Hawk earned the save, his 10th, for the Yellows.
Yucca Valley used the timely hitting of Alfonso Ramos to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yellows on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Yucca Valley manager Christian O'Dell. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Yucca Valley is now 21-21.
