Shuckers Turn Back Springfield, 4-3

The Biloxi Shuckers did just enough to sneak past the Springfield Shooters, 4-3, at The Pizza Oven. Biloxi pitcher Boris Milatovic earned player of the game honors. Milatovic, now 9-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The Shooters have now dropped 6 straight.
The Shuckers got a lift from third baseman Jason Middleton who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth inning off António Arellano. It was his 15th RBI of the season and put Biloxi in front, 1-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Middleton. "And not try to do too much."
