Tight Tilt Goes to Fighting Imps, 4-3
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps eked out a 4-3 win versus the Olympia Ogres at The Ogre Den. Nobody did more than pitcher Glenn Underwood, who captured player of the game honors. Underwood went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-7. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Fighting Imps.
Ithaca left fielder Paul Wood helped his team take an early lead. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Olympia manager Harris Bailey said following the tough loss.
