Rainbow Mermaids Lose to Shredders, 6-3
|
Atlantica was the site for United States Premier League action featuring the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Hollywood Shredders.
Hollywood third baseman Richard Trevithick played a vital role in his team's 6-3 triumph over Northern Virginia. He was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for Hollywood. The Shredders improved to 53-46.
It could have been a different outcome for Hollywood, had it not been for Nigel Sturges, the slick-fielding second baseman . Sturges contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Hollywood up, 3-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Trevithick told the Hollywood Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
