Chukars Nip River Rats, 2-1
The Idaho Falls Chukars got a stellar performance from pitcher Camillo Vialli, who handcuffed the Columbia offense en route to a 2-1 win at Columbia Stadium. Artie Bates finished to wrap up his 12th save. Idaho Falls has an impressive 22-11 record.
Idaho Falls needed the clutch hitting of Ricardo Águila to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chukars on top, 2-0. For the game, Águila had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Columbia skipper Lockwood Rose, "and it cost us."
