Quintanilla Helps Continentals Run Win Streak to 8
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Ricardo Quintanilla, the Chesapeake Continentals defeated the Virginia Palladium Sox, 9-4. Quintanilla was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Continentals. Nick Cole, credited with the win, is now 6-1. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 6.2 innings. Picking up the save was José Escalante, his 7th.
In the top of the first, Quintanilla pounced on a 0-1 fastball from Jesús Crisotomo and hit a 3-run home run. It put Chesapeake on top, 3-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Quintanilla told the Chesapeake Bulletin.
Chesapeake has now won 8 straight.
