Screaming Eagles Squelch Krewe Offense in Shutout Win
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles topped the Crescent City Krewe, 4-0, in USPL Double A action at Field of the Krewe. The player of the game was Mercer Island pitcher Phil Day. Day got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 1 hit and walked 2 over 5 innings. Day allowed no earned runs. The win puts the Screaming Eagles at 18-14, while the Krewe drop to 21-11.

In the top of the first, Dima Tabakaev pounced on a slider from Manny Pinto and hit a run-scoring double. It gave Mercer Island a quick 1-0 lead.

Tabakaev told a Mercer Island Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
