Chukars Score Late to Upend Walleye, 3-2
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars did just enough to sneak past the Walla Walla Walleye, 3-2, at Walleye Tank. Idaho Falls pitcher Camillo Vialli earned player of the game honors. Idaho Falls reliever Will Sovaiala picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Maxwell Security absorbed the loss. Artie Bates got credit for the save for Idaho Falls. It was his 10th of the year.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of Alden Hall to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chukars on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Hall told the Idaho Falls Citizen. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
Idaho Falls leads the Menard's A by 2 games.
