González at His Best, Blanks Yucca Valley
|
It wasn't easy but the Levittown Blue Dragons made it look that way.
Starter Ramón González shut out the Yucca Valley Yellows despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Levittown Blue Dragons cruised to victory, 6-0. González allowed only 1 hit and rang up 6 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
In 8 starts this season González has fashioned a 3-2 record and a 3.19 ERA.
