The New Orleans Voodoo went down to defeat to Robert Smalls and his Portland teammates. The final score was 5-2 in favor of the Evergreens. Portland is 54-42 and New Orleans, with the loss, 55-41.
Portland used the clutch hitting of Tetsu Matsumoto to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Evergreens ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Robert is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck.
