Palladium Sox Turn Back Olympia, 5-3

The Virginia Palladium Sox picked up a win at Palladium Labs, knocking off the Olympia Ogres, 5-3. Starting pitcher Dudley Malone played a key role in the triumph. Malone went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-1. Earning his 2nd save for Virginia was Jim Harris.
One of the key players for the Palladium Sox was shortstop Armando Silva, who drilled a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, Silva went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Palladium Sox manager Will Thomas. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
Today's win puts Virginia at 7-17, while Olympia falls to 11-13.
