Field of the Krewe was the site for USPL Double A action featuring the Crescent City Krewe and Virginia Palladium Sox.

The Virginia Palladium Sox stopped the Crescent City Krewe, 7-2, at Field of the Krewe. The Palladium Sox got a big game from Xie-li Shiu, who hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Earl Hurdle, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held the Krewe to no earned runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4.

Virginia used the timely hitting of Manuel Ortíz to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Palladium Sox on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ortíz.

The Palladium Sox, with just their 6th win in 20 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
