Loss to Screaming Eagles Extends Virginia Losing Streak
John Wilkerson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Virginia Palladium Sox from losing, 9-5, to the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Mercer Island Grounds. Wilkerson was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Mercer Island starter Phil Day was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. It was the 12th win in 18 games this year for the defending champion Screaming Eagles, who are picking up where they left off.

Su-min Im was a prime contributor to the Mercer Island win. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. In the bottom of the second with no one out, the 23-year old second baseman hit a run-scoring double. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Screaming Eagles.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Im.
