Blimps Drop Krewe with Late Score
The Akron Blimps eked out a 5-4 win versus the Crescent City Krewe at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Nobody did more than pitcher Billy Francis, who captured player of the game honors. Akron reliever Lorenzo Encarnación picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Chris Floyd absorbed the loss. The defending champion Blimps have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 8-8 with the win.

Cristo Correa Jr. was the walk-off hero for Akron. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blimps right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Correa Jr. told reporters after the game.
