Screaming Eagles Win at Westwood, 5-1
|
Mercer Island Screaming Eagles starter Phil Day was in fine form against the Westwood Sixshooters at Sixshooters Stadium, leading his team to a 5-1 win. Noah Walker finished the game for Mercer Island and earned his 2nd save. It was the 9th win in 13 games this year for the defending champion Screaming Eagles, who are picking up where they left off.
It could have been a different outcome for Mercer Island, had it not been for Andrew Bash, the 23-year old left fielder . Bash contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Mercer Island up, 3-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Day said.
