Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Mike Branch, the Ithaca Fighting Imps defeated the Virginia Palladium Sox, 5-4. Branch was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Fighting Imps. Ithaca reliever Surya Prawiranega picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Mike Bennett absorbed the loss. Jimmy Whitney recorded the save for Ithaca, his 3rd of the season.

Ithaca took a 5-4 lead on Donald McJannett's 6th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which McJannett hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Virginia pitcher Tony Ruvenacht shaking his head.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McJannett told the Ithaca Gazette.

The Palladium Sox fall to 5-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2041 season.
