Shooters Fall Short, 4-3, at Akron
Billy Joe Arp was instrumental in his team's 4-3 triumph over the Springfield Shooters. The left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Akron Blimps. Lorenzo Encarnación closed the door for Akron, picking up his 4th save of the year. The defending champion Blimps have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 6-7 with the win.

Arp had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 changeup from César González, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Blimps a 4-3 lead. It was the 11th hit of the year for Arp.

Arp attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
